The project

A solar park project in central Romania, in the Homorod commune of Brașov county, 65 km from the city of Brașov and directly accessible from the main asphalted road. Installed capacity 61 MW DC / 48 MW AC, with an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) of 48 MW and 192 MWh. The specific yield for a fixed structure is calculated at 1,347 MWh/MWp per year.

Land rights

  • About 91 hectares secured through superficies contracts of at least 42 years each, at 2,000 euros per hectare per year, indexed to EUROSTAT.
  • The area accommodates the full DC power on a fixed or tracking system without shadowing between rows.
  • Roughly 18 hectares are arable land and 73 hectares meadow; the final permit from the Agricultural Authority allows construction on both.

Grid connection

  • The Technical Connection Approval (ATR) was issued by the grid operator DEER in February 2024.
  • Connection to the 110 kV Hoghiz–Fântânele overhead line through an in-out system and a 7 km underground 110 kV cable.
  • The grid connection contract was signed in February 2025; commercial operation date June 2028.
  • The N-1 study asks for automation equipment on two 110 kV line segments, estimated at about 0.2 million euros; this condition is expected to be cleared by commissioning.
  • An official application for the battery storage system has been filed with the grid operator, and the establishment permit application has been submitted to ANRE.

Permitting

  • The plant area is split into three building permits, all obtained and registered in the land books.
  • The building permit for the 7 km underground 110 kV cable was obtained in August 2026, and the permit for the Rupea connection substation in February 2026.
